Ogun State Police Arrest Suspected Cult Members

The Ogun State Police command has apprehended Ogunnibi Hammed, believed to be a prominent figure in the Eiye confraternity, a notorious cult group. The arrest, which occurred on Sunday, resulted from a well-coordinated operation involving the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, the Anti-Cultism Unit (AKU), and the Obalende Division of the police.

Ogunnibi Hammed, known for his involvement in violent clashes with rival cult groups in the state, was the primary target of this operation. It was launched based on intercepted information about the activities of suspected cultists causing havoc in various areas, including Odogbolu, Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, and Ilishan in Ogun State.

In addition to Ogunnibi Hammed, the police arrested 18 other individuals suspected of belonging to various cult groups. They have reportedly confessed to their involvement.

Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu has ordered a thorough investigation into the arrested individuals. Updates on this case will be provided to the public as the investigation progresses.
